COMPLETED
2001

When it came time to design and plant the gardens of the World Food Prize Hall of Laureates, living the organization’s mission to make the most of our limited natural resources was essential. Materials removed from the parking lot were crushed and reused on the site, which diverted 1,400 pounds of waste from the landfill. Recycled materials were also incorporated into the garden for curbing, planting circles and fences.

In 2013, The Hall of Laureates was awarded LEED Platinum certification becoming one of only a handful of 19th century buildings on the National Register of Historic Places in the country to earn that rating.
